Wednesday, May 24, 1893 The Anti-Saloon League
The Anti-Saloon League was formed in Oberlin, Ohio. Over the next three decades it would organize churches and lobby local governments to pass Prohibition amendments around the country, ending only when their final goal was reached with the ratification of the Eighteenth Amendment on January 16, 1919.
