C.L. Centlivre Brewing Company
In 1862 Charles L. Centlivre and his family built a brewhouse near a canal with their own hands, in Fort Wayne, turning out over 500 barrels of lager beer the first year. It became a complex by 1894. Centlivre had a racetrack, picnic grounds and boating for the people of Fort Wayne. A statue of the founder, then at the top of the brewery, exists to this day.
