Very early tray from a company that merged with the H. D. Beach Co. in 1901. This tray, depicting the largest mass execution in America's history, exposes how much anti-Native sentiment lingered in Minnesota, nearly 40 years after the Dakota War. This image was the Standard Brewery's first foray into advertising, used it on both signage and this tray. They later revised the tray by putting the brewery name in the open space at the top. This example has craquelure, chips, and general wear.
