Saturday, January 3, 1835 Michael Sieben
Michael Sieben was born in Ebersheim, Germany. In 1860 Sieben emigrated to America and quickly established himself in Chicago. By 1865 he was already listed as a brewer in the Chicago Directory. In 1876 he started his own brewery on 335-345 Larrabee Street. Michael Sieben lived to be 90 years of age, Sieben's Excelsior Brewery however survived Prohibition and finally closed in 1976.
