Saturday, August 29, 1812   Joseph Yoerg

Joseph Yoerg was born. He was the oldest of two boys born to Georg Yoerg in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. His younger brother Anthony emigrated to America in 1845 and started the Anthony Yoerg brewery in St. Paul, Minnesota. In 1857 Joseph and his family also moved to St. Paul to join his brother in the brewery business. In 1871 his son Lewis would take the skills he learned there across the St. Croix River to Hudson Wisconsin where he formed a brewery. Joseph Yoerg died on the 10th of September, 1880. He was 68 years old.
