In compliance with your favor of the 6th. inst. I have been at Marion, Ind. to investigate about, jour property at that City in regard to Wm. N. Green, who has occupied same for about, three years without paying any rent.
Mr. Green moved into the resp. house in February 1895 by the authority of Wm. M. Stevens of Mar ion, Ind., former owner of the resp. property.
From the records I ascertained that, the resp. property was sold by Sheriff's sale on February 24th. 1894- with the clause, that Mr. Wm. M. Stevens could redeem the property within one year from date of sale. The Sheriffs Deed of sale to P. B. CO. was dated March 31s t. 1896. and recorded on- April 1st. 1896. and according to this States law you only became legal owners of said property on March 31 at, 1896 and you can claim rent only from this date.
