Peter Ganser was born in Germany. In 1865 he and his brother Adam purchased the City Brewery in Owatonna Minnesota from Knobloch & Mannheim. He ran the brewery until 1894 when he retired from business, for a while. In 1900 he bought back the brewery and ran it until his death in 1916.
