Description

This can is a work of art by Minnesota native Duck Stamp painter Les Kouba. "Plow Horses" is one of the first 17 scenes he painted for the Jacob Schmidt Brewing Company of St. Paul, Minnesota. In the mid 1950s the images were used to promote their flagship "Schmidt Beer". Kouba in this painting joins the past and the present in one scene, a common theme in his early Schmidt art. "Plow Horses" features a pioneer farmer breaking the ground with his team of horses and a single blade plow. In the distance is a glimpse of the future: A modern farm with large silos and barns. Display can.
